A Little Racer

Bud's traveling spot

Little Bud who thought he was a Big Bud passed away 4/13/04 in Houston, Texas. He was such a sweet little dog and loved everyone (except children under 4). Bud was a member of our family at home and racing. Bud loved to travel and his favorite thing to do was to stop at the rest areas to mark his territory. When Darryl fired up the Kenworth, Bud would run around and bark wanting to get in. Bud had many racing fans and friends.Bud had several names also. NHRA official Geno always called him the Sushi dog. Dave Crawford a member of the team, called him Budzilla. Darryl's favorite name was Budzie and I called him my "little love."  Bud spent many hours hanging on Darryl's arm as he went visiting around the pits.  When he was younger he traveled to other pits often looking for handouts. As he was grew older and after many scoldings he stayed close to the home pit. Bud had a few dog friends. He was always excited to visited the Weaver's dogs and he exchange barks with Federlin's dogs. Bud loved to go to the start line because he received alot of "pets" from racers, officials and fans.We do not know why Bud died but suspect a central nervous system infection. We miss Bud greatly and he will always have a place in our hearts.

We want to thank all the people who sent flowers and cards. It was very thoughtful of you and we deeply appreciated it. Cindy and Darryl
